PRIVATE MEDITATION & MINDFULNESS SESSIONS
OPEN DOORS™ YOGA STUDIOS
with Mellara Gold
A personalized one-on-one session designed to meet you where you are. Whether you are new to meditation, looking for support with a busy mind, wanting to reconnect with your body, or simply seeking a more grounded and restorative practice, each session is shaped around what would be most supportive that day.
Sessions may include a combination of guided meditation, breath awareness, Yoga Nidra, mindful movement, restorative or gentle yoga, and other embodied practices. Students are welcome to share beforehand what they would like support with, but they do not need to arrive knowing exactly what they need. Mellara will guide the session in response to the individual and what emerges through the practice.
MELLARA GOLD

Mellara is a yoga and meditation teacher, author, and retreat guide whose work is rooted in the simple practice of living with greater awareness.
She has been teaching yoga for more than twenty-five years. Over time, her practice and teaching have deepened to weave together Hatha yoga, meditation, mindfulness, and reflective inquiry, inviting students to meet themselves with greater honesty, steadiness, and compassion. Whether teaching yoga, writing an essay, guiding a retreat, or working with someone individually, her work returns to one enduring question: How do we stay with ourselves when life becomes difficult?
Originally from Queensland, Australia, Mellara moved to Los Angeles at seventeen to study at the Lee Strasberg Theatre Institute. She went on to spend most of her adult life in California, where yoga became a central part of her life and work.
Mellara completed her yoga teacher training at the Center for Yoga in Los Angeles. Her teaching continued to deepen through practice and study with teachers including Erich Schiffmann and Saul David Raye. Her later study with monastically trained Buddhist upāsaka Channa Dassanayaka brought meditation, mindfulness, and contemplative practice more deeply into her life and became an enduring influence on her work.
She is the author of A Life Worth Living, Living in Awareness, and the Living in Awareness Companion Journal. Her essays and articles have appeared in OM Yoga & Lifestyle Magazine, Women's Fitness, Elephant Journal, Meditation Magazine, and other wellness publications.
Mellara lives on the South Shore of Massachusetts and teaches weekly classes at Open Doors Yoga in Norwell. At the Norwell studio, she works privately with students through Yoga Wall, Yoga for a Healthy Back, and individual meditation and mindfulness sessions. She has taught private Yoga Wall sessions since 2002. Her one-on-one work offers a more individualized approach to practice, whether someone is caring for their back, exploring greater strength and mobility, developing a meditation practice, or wanting the space to listen more closely to what they need.
Beyond the studio, Mellara teaches workshops and retreats and works privately with students both in person and online.
She believes practice is not about becoming someone else.
It is about learning to remain present for the life that is already here.
You're welcome here, exactly as you are.
