What is Therapeutic Yoga?
Therapeutic yoga is a self- empowering guided experience that invites presence and body awareness. It looks at the body- mind as a whole and looks at how well it is functioning. Using breath, movement, postures, and other traditional yoga tools, you will be guided into a state of functional movement and balance. This state of balance is achieved by correcting misdirected energies and allowing them to flow properly. This is a collaborative process and together we can create the opportunity for you to be the greatest expression of your potential.
In his Therapeutic Yoga Sessions, Shawn will assess body movement and functionality. Based upon the observation he will provide you with movement techniques that will support and improve range of motion and ease of movement within joints. Shawn also offers hands on adjustments to assist in this process. Sessions typically last 1 hour but can be scheduled for longer. Many people report changes in their condition happen in the first session. During the session you will learn small movements that you can practice outside of the session to continue the healing process.
